Writing process?
Spiralizer:
Just wondering if any member of the band could chime in and enlighten us to what your song writing process is? I've been a musician for most of my life and for the life of me I can't figure out how you would go about constructing such awesome, crazy music. Any info would be killer!
Pumpkin:
hell yeah!
thinking about how they do it is like thinking about the grandfather paradox or the ultimate point of life!
Syriak:
It's pure chaos.
;D
.....no...really...it's vey different for each song I should say.
Usually one or two members come up with the basic idea for a song ( sometimes just one instrument, sometimes nearly all of them ) and then everyone Unexpectize it with their own colors.
We all like to participate in the other's instrumentation so we all throw ourselves goals and challenges.
For example, let's say I approach Chaoth and tell him : "try to do this and that while tapping there..." ( which is kind of a very awkward position for a bassist...of course you can't see it now, but imagine something weird and somewhat spicy... ).
He'll answer :"man...that's physcially impossible"
To which I say : " so ? "
...and he does it. ;D
This is what makes a difference, as there's no complacency and we constantly challenge each other with ideas that would not come easily for our own native instruments, since there's physical applications that can be quite hard on guitar but easy on the violin, difficult on bass but relaxing for a piano, and so on...
Vocals are most of the time worked after the music is done, but the music change a bit afterwhile so we can marry all aspects together. It's an everchanging process and some details change even when we're in studio. Our doors are always open to new ideas and changes, and since we're maniacally perfectionists, it's hard for us to say : " well, that song is completely done ". Even more so, since there's a lot of heads implicated in the creation process.
Most importantly...we have fun doint it ! :)
That's the main thing.
Spiralizer:
Thanks Syriak, great thought out answer brother! Very cool to be able to ask and get a constructive response.
ThyBlackHalo:
